Since 1991, The Navigator Network has been a trusted accounting, taxation and financial planning practice on the Gold Coast, working with individuals, families and small to medium businesses across South East Queensland and interstate. We are a Chartered Accountant and Financial Planning Association partner and a registered tax agent, and over 90% of our clients come to us by referral, a track record we put down to the quality and consistency of our team.
We are growing, and we are looking for a full-time Accountant to join us in Southport.
About the role
You will manage a portfolio of individual and SME clients, delivering accurate, timely compliance work and building the kind of relationships that keep clients with us for decades. Day to day, you will:
- Prepare financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships
- Maintain accurate client files and records, and keep on top of workflow and lodgement deadlines
- Liaise directly with clients and colleagues by phone, email and in person, explaining things clearly and professionally
- Take ownership of your workload, flagging issues early and following through without needing to be chased
About you
- 2 to 5 years' experience in public practice accounting (highly regarded, but we will consider strong candidates outside this range)
- Confident with cloud and desktop accounting software. Xero experience is a strong plus (we are a Xero Gold Partner); exposure to MYOB, QuickBooks, Access or CCH is also useful
- Excellent attention to detail and a genuine pride in getting the numbers right
- Well organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing deadlines
- Professional, personable, and a natural communicator with clients and colleagues alike
